1 〔性質〕 (a) nature; a disposition; a characteristic; a personality; (a) spirit; a mind; a soul; a temper; a 《mean》 streak.

●ひねくれた根性 a spirit of perverseness; perverseness; a twisted personality; 《be》 cross-grained

・卑しい[さもしい]根性 a nasty [sordid, despicable] mind; meanness of spirit; churlishness; small-mindedness.
